THAT is something I have handy... I will test it next week.

Only drawback I see is that the 4" x 4" pieces I use for wrapping work that goes in job envelopes is gonna be a PITA to affix to larger paper to go through the printer...

Do they make the stuff in larger sizes? Only ever used it for wrapping small jewelry jobs.

I have found acid free tissue paper works really well, it releases images easily with acetone,is translucent to aid placement , and easy to shape on curved surfaces .........we also use it to wrap jewellery up after repair.

Now that's interesting. I assume you tape it to a carrier sheet for printing? Seems like it would jam easily since it's so thin. Any problem with that?

Brian: I see it listed on Walmart.com. My store doesn't have it but others in the area do. As much as I loathe Walmart I'd be willing to suffer a few minutes to get some for testing.

I'll let you know later today... but the stuff at Wally World is not exactly what we are talking about.

The stuff you get at a jewelry supply is acid free - because when you wrap a sterling ring or chain in acid paper it tarnishes by the time the customer gets around to picking up the job.

Wally World can be amusing if you go in there about once every 3 years as more of tourist. Even then you gotta be in the right frame of mind.

Only thing I have ever bought there was a bunch of CO2 paintball bottles - simply because buying 6 of them there was $40 cheaper than anywhere else in Stockton...

Ok, I tried it with some light yellow gift wrap tissue that Abigail had on hand (brand unknown) and it transfers really well. I would say it has about 10% transparency, which might be enough for some things and not enough for others. Perhaps the white acid free variety is better. I'll try that as soon as I can get some.

I taped it to a carrier sheet for printing.

OK, thought about it a bit and realized that the jewelers tissue also comes on rolls 7.5 inches wide... and that I had a coupla rolls left over from when I had the retail jewelry store.

Dug around and found them under the shipping bench upstairs. Taped some to a standard sheet and got about the same results that Sam did.

With both the 4' x4" squares and the 7.5" stuff. Guessing that they are the same acid free paper?

Works, but too much of a PITA for me to be taping and fooling with. Just another method for laser transfers... no particular advantages over the inkjet/transparencies I have always used.
