Good, inexpensive, engraveable knife?

A friend/neighbor has two teenage sons and her husband is getting them into the whole huntin', shootin', n fishin' thang (which I wholeheartedly applaud!). I've offered to engrave their initials/monograms on good, solid, usable pocket knives for Christmas presents. Any suggestions for this project? She doesn't really have a budget (pending my recommendations), but considering these would be something the boys would be carrying afield, I'm thinking more along the lines of Spydercos than Microtechs or Benchmades.

The more specific you could be regarding make, model, & material would be most helpful, thanks!

I ordered one of these and it looks fine. I haven't cut it yet. It was recommended to me by another engraver.

Spyderco's cut real well if you want a full canvas. Kershaw's cut but are hard.

Try Tira Mitchell. She pocket knives from Case. I think they are around $30. She offers this in a kit but you can buy them separately.

BladeHQ has some decent quality Bokers, just ordered one.

I would also recommend that they don't go too cheap. This may be something that will be a lifetime keepsake.

Hard to go wrong with a Buck 110 or a 55 if they want something smaller.
