I have a friend that had a Taurus 22mag that he told me to practice on and do what ever I wanted. Here are a couple of photos of what I did. I see many many things I would do different, and there are probably more that I don’t see. Overall though I am pleased with the way it came out and he was as well. Any pointers or suggestions would be great.

I do not have the gun any more Monk. Thank you for the suggestions, there is so much more I see that needs corrected. It’s certainly a continuous learning process

Hello Dean,

Nice job! I would try to rotate some of the motives to keep the same angles within the scrollworks and in the area where the scrollwork connects to what you already have on the gun (the logo circle, screws, etc). I think it would blend better.

Also, I would recommend you to try to keep a coherent style of the swirls. Some of the swirls seem to be flattened to fit small areas - that makes them look as if they were drawn in a different style.

I can totally relate with your decision to make just few scrollworks there, I used to do the same :beerchug: But covering more of the area usually makes the engravings look better. Throw away your worries and try it :)
