    That looks like pitting to me someone left that gun in a damp & wet place blood etching I don't agree on the blood story. J.J.

    Frank many of these pistols came back by our GI they came back with duffel bags filled with guns, swords,knifes flags they would only give us kids arm patches. J.J.

    Dan, the inlay of the Elk is silver and all the guns I've seen like yours of the Japanese engraved gun the animals and birds inlays were done in silver never saw one with gold your gun was engraved in Japan. J.J.

    In the swamp in the back of my home town I trapped Muskrats in the 1950's the pelts sold for $3.50 each also hunted ducks those were fun times. J.J.

    We had a print shop in my high school one letter press and one single color offset press I took up printing and did it in the Navy and worked in the printing trade for 50 years was never with out a job. J.J.
