A couple of years ago (nearly) I came back to my workshop with a GRS basic engraving course under my belt. Upon returning home, I was determined to put my new skills to work. There was hitch though... I found out that my Brother printer/copier/ fax pretty much refused to deliver transfers the...
Your mouth to God's ears Mitch!
Put all the stuff I want to listen to into iTunes some time ago. Today I've got the Mavericks on shuffle. Tomorrow Beau Soleil? Lately on a country/cajun/bluegrass rotation.
Musically, everything. Most of the time though, I'm fully immersed in the work, and if I'm really listening to anything it's the pitch and cadence of the hand piece I'm working with as I cut.
Just reflection on the mirror finished bright cuts. Marriane’s 120 heels are so brightly finished, the cuts she makes literally reflect whatever is around them like a mirror.
Sam shows you how to do this in the video.
Great find. Whoever did the design and layout knew the art, and took pains to mimic the look of hand engraving. Looks like the repeating patterns were done with templates.
Hi John,
Sam mentioned a download link in one of his posts. Assuming the downloaded file is in PDF format, once downloaded, as long as you have a PDF reader installed on your system, it should open with the PDF reader. From there you should be able to print it.

Hi Leonardo.
Would you be kind enough to post a link through which the lights are purchasable?
Are these made in Argentina, and if so are there any special instructions regarding import to the US?
Thank you,
Michael
You've clearly got a knack. Best advice I would give anyone starting out is to take a basic engraving class at the GRS Training Center in Emporia KS.
Best instructors, and instruction in the world a beginning student can get in a one week course, bar none.
At 60, or 40, or even 20, it's worth...
Scroll structure is sound, pleasing, and postitive/negative space is very good.
Scroll elements read well but need to extend to touch the backbone, and could use a bit more definition and flair.
Single point shading is clearly defined and nicely spaced, but needs taper (light to dark, fine to...
I absolutely hate the time consuming process of background removal. Feels like grunt-work and there's just no way around it.
Have tried just about everything from texturing the negative space without removing background, to creating diagonal lines for background, but one just cant fool the...
You might want to try Win-OX. It's a go to spot oxidizer for Native American silversmiths here in the southwestern US, and a real favorite of professional Navajo jewelry finishers. To apply only in recessed areas, you can use a toothpick dipped in the stuff to dab it in, or paint it in. Be sure...
Very interesting!
Faced with an intellectual property infringement situation in the 1990's, when the defendants (infringers) didn't show up for their day in Federal District Court , we made a motion for, and received a default Judgement, and permanent injunction which allowed us to seize and...
