welcome Mr. Bluenote38, I'm up here in the rat hole (flint), keep trying and the best thing I found is to master, or at least try to master sharpening. Rob
Mr Mike, I know you a little bit and seems to me between you and Sam A you both attached to the engraving craft like a Benedicton Monk. I congratulate both of you on you service, dedication, loyality, trueness to our art and way. Thank You both Robin M Thrash
sorry............one little point, take the set out of the holder and file/grind/lap, flat, do away with the traditional cone shape, it make the burin shatter and stick.
I have used Cennenial carbide round .125's for a number of years, 3"long. Any defining facet, that has suitable suface area can accuratly be indexed to the lap every time. after you set the 1.25' PROTRUSION leave the set screw slightly, slightly loose put it on the lap and "snap" you will...
I use the 5660 alone with 1 cart. black only. seems to work pretty good ........although there are some that need the ink density bumped up after the first copy. cut on fine people. Rob
Hay Hay Mr. Kyle, looks like your skills are IN tune with artistic world of engraving, combining the machine shop and imagination.......perhaps a little designing and POOF your there! Cool handle that fits the qc holders. Cut on!!! Please post some more stuff.
