    Yes, Renaissance wax which was originally developed to protect valuable and varied museum articles. To enhance engraving, mix in a bit of lamp black.

    The easy grind is what I use in my mig for sheet metal welding on my old cars. Can be worked with hammer and dolly to take out shrinkage as I go along.

    If welding to fill pits/errors make sure the filler metal used will not turn hard when it cools or graver tips will cry foul! I shortened a floorplate once by 1 1/4 inch and had a friend weld it back together. Very hard and took three attemps to anneal so it could be cut. The last one of...

    Just keep in mind...anneal it, clean it and give it a good setting punch with the base metal firmly held against movement.

    The boo boo it seems, at least to me, would be Ducks Unlimited on a rifle... Thanks Jerry ("checks in the mail"). I once was asked to salvage a rather nice custom Beasley style revolver with 4 removable barrels and 2 cylinders of different calibers that had what appeared to be beginner...

    French gray ( grey ) finish.

    Aluminum can also be electroless nickel plated, giving a nice coin finish that is scratch resistant.
