Blender is software for 3d modeling. The printers are fed with software called "slicers". All that matters is that you have the file in a compatible format. The most common for feeding the printers is .stl and blender and most other modeling software can output .stl. If not, there are other...
The label on the museum wall had this description, but I suspect something might have gotten quite lost in the translation of her statement from Japanese to English:
"As she has done here, Aoki Katsuyo usually works with bone-white porcelain to create an intricate jumble of labyrinthine...
I visited the Art Institute of Chicago today, where I saw this wonderful large 3 dimensional scrollwork porcelain sculpture. Maybe 20" tall? The artist is Aoki Katsuyo, born 1972. I found more of her work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/katsuyo_aoki/

I'd guess 8 to 10 months of steady, stressful, often boring and mind numbing work requiring constant focus and attention.
But finding a block of marble of the quality to support that detail, that blows my mind.
We get loads of examples of great engraving, showing how it should be done. But sometimes it's informative to see what to avoid, especially if it is all combined in one place.
A real shame that they trashed a great gun; it wouldn't be so bad on a Hi Point or SCCY.
