Rococo style

A cup of hot rococo for this wintery morning. My first foray into this style and I learned a lot and picked up a few tricks I can use for other designs. Some parts turned out well and some I’m not too crazy about, but I can say that about every piece I draw. It’s gaudy, cluttered, complicated, unpredictable, and I loved every minute of it.

Many thanks to my friend Ken Hunt for being an inspiration to me and the entire community of hand engravers. Nobody does it better than Ken.

I love this.... I have been working hard on the (butterfly-ish) shape in the bottom and top of your drawing. My hand is being stubborn and not wanting to move that way haha. Again, this (like ALL of your work) is perfect and stunning. Your way of "fixing things" is amazing!

Edit: This may have come out wrong. What I mean to say is... Sometimes when I watch you draw, you make a mark, and I think to myself - how in the world is this "s" curve at this particular angle gonna fit in this image lol. You always make it disappear. Love, admire, appreciate, study, and try to emulate your work everyday. kevin
