I just finished these wedding bands and thought I'd post them. They were engraved with a custom made carbide flat and 120 square graver with a 901 hand piece.
As always comments and critique welcomed.

That is exactly what I was looking for when I got married and couldn't find one anywhere in the country ready to wear. I never thought to have one engraved for me, DUHHH The 27th will be 15 years for us:D

I did find one similar that is a mere casting of the engraving on the top only and not all the way around plus it's hollow under the top. I'll just make my own one day when I get a job that will allow me to wear it. Rings and airplanes don't mix well, it has proven to be a good way to lose that finger.

Beautiful job Mike!

Hi Mike.
Great job on the rings. Beautiful work.
Very neat engraving job, almost as good as your winemaking and hand made salami !!!! Ha ha.
Thanks for showing them.
Best to you and your family.
John B.

PS. Is young Mike learning the jewelry and engraving from you? Sure hope so. J.

Mike,
do you need carbide gravers/ chisels for gold or is it just your preference? I thought I heard that gold will cold bond to regular hss.

Thanks guys.
Tim; a lot of people jump into marriage before they find the right one:)
John; I think I could make more money selling my salami, well maybe not. Mike dabbles but he wants to go into music technology, that's OK with me. This can be a rough business at times.
Kent; I use a carbide graver on precious metals. I can put a mirror finish on the graver and it's consistently duplicated onto the metal with virtually no drag.

Great job on the bands, Mike. They look really good.
I hope you don't mind me adjusting the levels in your photo a bit. They may be a bit too 'gold'.

Don't mind at all. Thanks Sam. Did you do that with an overlay fill? That made it look much richer.

Mike: I adjusted levels and curves in Photoshop, and also a bit of noise reduction to smooth the background. I didn't touch the color, but the increased contrast in levels adjustment often increases color saturation.

Sam; I was monkeying around with those controls in Corel and what difference you can make with a mediocre picture ah I mean very professional quality photo:).
Thanks for the tip they never end here.

Mike: Sometimes people do jump into marriage before they find the right one, but sometimes things like this make them rush into marriage before they are ready. ;)

Kidding aside, those rings are beautiful! You are really great at the whittlin' stuff!

Ciao! :)

Johan I took a look at your website it looks to me your well on your way. If I showed you bands I did a year or so ago (which I won't) you would think somebody else did them.

Jim, Abi Thanks

Abigail it was such a pleasure to meet you and Sam. I just wish we had more time to shot the bull. Hopefully we will get together again.
