After 9 months this is where I'm at

Ok, Ok its time for you guys to rip me a new one...hahahahh

After hundreds of hours of reading (really) and hundreds of practicing and then reading some more, asking questions, taken by the hand at times and everything explained 3 times as if I were a child. HAHA

I finished my first hand gun its a cheap 38 special its my brothers and he loves it, I guess thats what counts, I had a conversation with Gerry about where I'm lacking, where I have improved, and where I want to be in another 9 months.

Like you guys always say were always are hardest critics. (like my mentor always says, these are always his first words when I ask him what he thinks of my work "what do you think")

like elbows, design flaws (remember that the grips might cover part of your design) lol



But honestly I think I'm pointed in the right direction.

Ok here it comes, your advice and constructive criticism is welcomed.

Congratulations on your first gun. It's better than the first one I engraved and this proves you can do it. Never be satisfied with your work. Give yourself credit for what you did well and be tough on yourself for what you did poorly. Using that recipe you'll continue to get better and grow as an engraver.

Carlos, very nice and as Sam said it is better then the first one I did also. I think you will find that engraving on guns will help you on your way faster due to the curves and tight spaces you have to cut and design. Although not a cheap learning platform, but I would be proud to own and show this work. So keep plugging away and great work. ZZ

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it, I'm just itching to start the next one, I tried to find a before and after picture but I guess I never took a before picture.

Guess what going to fiddle with the light painting technique hopefully I can get some good results.

A good thing To practice curved surfaces and different hardnes is tool sockets. A lil tip I picked up From Scott at the engrave-in.

Oh I almost forgot this gun was originally blued, and finished in french grey,,,boy has this been a learning experience!
