Alumilite is one of the brands of products used to make cast reproductions of engraving.
It is poured into an RTV molding made from the engraved item to cure and solidify.
It can produce an exact copy of the engraving.
Castings are wonderful tools for teaching engraving or record keeping.

I store mine and other resins, glues and other little used pasty things upside down. It seems to last longer.

Thanks .......... I use the stuff for making fishing lures. Never thought of it for engraving

i've made signs with stuff called "alumalite" 2 thin sheets of painted aluminum bonded to a foam core. nice stuff to work with.

Smooth On was my go to resin for molding and casting. Bigger selection for both molding and casting.
