Are there any Aussie or NZ engravers who use a laser printer for transferring with acetone? Not interested in inkjet, only laser and which available models will work. There are plenty available in the US but am wondering what's available in Oz. Simply want to print on plain paper and transfer with acetone, and not have to use parchment or jump through a lot of hoops.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

G'day Sam and welcome,

It is not my usual method of transferring (I usually use the baking paper method) however I print with a Fuji Xerox 205fw and was able to get a fairly decent transfer on the first attempt. I used to use a basic mono HP laser a few years ago (can't remember the number) and believe that that printer gave a better print on the baking paper so it would probably follow that it would give a good acetone transfer.

Hope this helps,
Roger

Hi Sam, I have a HP laserjet P1102 that does a good job, but is a few years old so I doubt you can buy them now, I have used a Brother at work both printer and also a fax copier printer same brand and they work fine for acetone transfers, but they are also old
hope this helps.
