At GRS in Emporia today there was considerable discussion of photographing engravings and several requests for some simplified guides to help non-professional photographers capture their engravings. I figure there is no reason to re-invent the wheel... here are several guides that I have found exceptionally useful in this regard. From: Camera Jim's Guides to eBay Auction Photography... 1) Selecting a Camera, 2) Cameras, Controls & Settings, 3) Basic Photographic Lighting Techniques, 4) Jewelry Photography, 5) Flatware & Silver Photography, 6) Artwork Photography and 7) Coin Photography. These guides certainly do not eliminate the learning curves but they flatten them enough so even an old fat man can make it up them given a bit of patience and perseverance. Viel Glueck!
