Hi everyone.

Sorry i have not posted in months.

What's new? I have started teaching and ran my first basic engraving course a few weeks ago. Loved doing it.

I have been cutting some sample plates they could examine or take wax or smoke transfers from.

Any teaching tips or critiques would be appreciated :tiphat:

Danae

Very best wishes to you with your teaching.
One of the most enjoyable parts of engraving.
Australian students and the world is blessed by your artistry
Look forward to meeting you at the Las Vegas show.

Teaching at Tharwa Valley forge. There's another course organized for December 4 to 8 (2017) :)

I'm not going to make it to Vegas this year.

Thanks.

I am teaching basic engraving.

The two who signed up for the last course were very interested in silver and jewellery and having fun with it so I taught them both Deep relief and Western. My plan was to just do deep relief but in that instance I slipped in some more info.

I have one signed into the next course and I expect I will cover what the course outline said (ie basic scroll engraving) and work on whatever he wants to do the rest of the time.

Once I have done a lot of these courses there may be enough engravers in the country to warrent running more advanced courses.

I am conflicted about whether to alter the course and wing it or stick to my outlined course but I always cover the material I said I would in the advertisement.

hi Danae- i've actually been putting off buying a few for myself, so i'd be happy to make kind of a double order and send half of 'em to Oz. PM me and we'll work out the particulars.
