is it harmful to use the Engraving handpiece of electric motor compressor without a filter?

It's not harmful unless you get water or oil in the air lines. All handpieces require clean, dry air.

I wouldn't use one without a filter, you'd just be asking for failures in your hand pieces. It takes very little time to get condensation in the air tank and that ends up in the tool. Unlike a rivet gun, impact wrench or sander, these hand pieces are tight tolerance precision tools that won't put up with moisture or oil in them. The first thing it affects is idle and evenness of throttle.

the delicate nature of these remarkable tools assumes precaution on the part of the user. even if you use an "oilless" diaphragm type compressor, you'll be free of oil contamination, but you'll still need a moisture filter. an expensive handpiece with a "junk" compressor, not a
good combination.
