Hi diandwill!
I appreciate your thoughts and concerns. I will definitely be able take a class across the border in about a year or so, things should change by then in terms of having a driving license as well as addressing the border crossing issues I currently have. I do not wish to wait till then to start learning about engraving though, hence my current plan.
I would also like to mention that Su is not teaching me; she took some time off her schedule to show me her workspace and tools a professional engraver uses, and shared her experiences on the path she travelled.
All the best!
@grey_goat: When I visited Su's studio, it was about half an hour from burrard station via the 135 express.
