Well said, Ron. R&D departments are great, and many of the products developed are a combination of their own ideas and those of the resourceful and clever customers who use them. It's been my experience that nearly all companies, from computers to cameras, are genuinely interested in feedback from users of their products. Got something you like? Tell them! Do you have a suggestion for making it better? Tell them!

Cheers / ~Sam

One thing I have to say, is that GRS's tools last a good long time. I have had my power hone for about 20 years or more.

JC this was a great thread, and I agree for the most part with the majority of what you said.

For my part a lot of my reply was meant to be faceceous (look it up in the dictionary any of you that don't know what it means:D ) I also forgot that a lot of you Americans don't do irony that well either, lol.

Ron, you are as always a man of wisdom. How on earth did I ever become an engraver using little pieces of steel pushed into home-made handles? No magnification in those days......except for the occassional use of a hand held loupe. Life was so much simpler then but the learning curve was so much steeper too. As you say....'Peace'

I only care about helping and that is my motive. We are all in the same boat, and will get further if we can work together. JC had some excellent points and I wouldn't want to diminish the importance of it. I try and understand both sides so that I can evaluate correctly and fairly. I didn't mean to offend with my comments, and I don't know about that "wisdom" thing. I just call it as I see it, and I care about all of you and your success and the success of this forum, but it is obviously already successful...JC It was "a great thread" and that is what this forum is about,.discussion............Ron S

As I have seen happen to other threads J.C. has posted, his choice of words sometimes can be misconstrued and leads to shall we say... differences of opinion. I would just like to say that I DO appreciate your sense of humor J.C., and I also find a lot of wisdom and knowledge from your many years of engraving experience in your posts.

Lastly, from what I have seen of your work, I for one, would be happy if you would post more pictures of it!

Thanks,
Peter
