The blue frame with the b&w scene makes it feel like I'm looking in a window. Even the style of scroll and the hard brackets surrounding the scene fit with the time period. Like the gun was engraved a hundred years ago. Very nice. Thank you for showing.
Marty, I masked the scene with nail polish and used Birchwood Casey rust blue remover. You are the second one to ask me about the coloring of the scenes. I used an incandescent light bulb above to light the gun for photographing and it appears to have yellowed the photo but it does make one consider burnt umber instead of flat black.
Your work is always astounding Lee! The eye gets drawn from one scene and detail to the next. Just exquisite!
The only thing that does not fit well for me personally is the gold plated trigger and hammer. Too much yellow in one place for me. I am guessing it was the customers idea?
Pictures are great but just don't do it justice. It is so much more impressive when you see it right in front of you.
Great job Lee. A wonderful expose of mind and metal.
