I had the pleasure to engrave a brilliant Rick Genovese folder. I would've loved to do some more gold inlays there, but unfortunately it was on a very tight schedule, so I had to balance the features and look.

But I did manage to make a short video of the process. Maybe in some future date I will make a longer or two-part video of the same thing with commentary as well. We shall see.

Video is recommended in FullHD and full screen (I didn't have better macro capability...)

Very nice work. And the video covered a lot in a short amount of time. I can see now I need to slow down. Thank you for posting the photo's and especially the video.

Beautiful knife, awesome work, great video tutorial, I have to say it has been explained many times before how to inlay gold, but this is the first time for me anyway, that I see how the teeth are raised to hold the wire in such detail,

thank you very much Vilts for taking the time to show us this and hopefully there will be more videos, :clapping::clapping:

Thank you for the kind words!

There will be more videos coming. I'm starting a small revolver project and this will involve extensive filming.

I hope Fuji will release its 120mm macro lens sooner rather than later, so I would get better close-ups :)

Fuji 120mm macro lens??? Which camera are did you using for this video?

This was Fuji X-E1, one of the first, if not the first, of Fuji's X series cameras. Lens was 60mm Macro with extension rings to get closer. I switched to Fuji after selling all my Canon gear...

And now I have new X-E2s incoming... The upcoming 120mm macro is 180mm full-frame equivalent and (I really hope) has 1:1 magnification at around 50cm (18-19 inches) distance. Should be perfect for stuff like that :)

Sorry geeked out in photography direction...
