hello to everyone,
I haven't posted up anything in quite a while, but I thought I might share this piece that I just finished.
It's a 2" x 3.25" sterling medallion for a masonic friend of mine.
The font for the back is Tangerine. I'm just beginning to work on my lettering. This font was fun and super easy to cut with a 90 degree graver. The font on the front was a different type, and it really needed a flat graver to make the flairs. It just did not turn out the way I really hoped it would. It looks like I'll be spending a lot more practice time with the flat graver and my lettering. I picked up Sam Alfano's dvd on lettering, so I've got study material. I also did the layout and spacing of the text in Corel X8. I finally broke down and bought a full new copy for the vector platform. I'm loving it, and working with it as much as I can to learn more.
