Practice Plate Material

Suggestion for practice plate material: I purchase old used silver plate trays and platters at thrift stores and second hand stores etc.,
I use my band saw and cut off the boarders….. I then cut remaining flat bottoms of trays into practice plates of desired size……
I normally engrave the back sides of trays as they a relatively unscratched. The vast majority of these trays are copper silver plated.

Stainless steel fender washers have worked for me. They are about 1” in diameter with a small hole in the center.

brass or copper elbows and tee fittings are a good source for doing compound curves. junk yards have lots of this stuff.
