Yesterday I started to carving a 1968 S Kennedy half dollar, had never tried to carving one of these coins, I knew that was composed of 40% silver, but from my ignorance i believed it was some kind of alloy, but it is not so, I realized that carving this coin is a Clad coinage a sort of metal sandwich, a heavy layer of silver and other of copper in the middle and another of Silver in the other side,this is the result:

Very, very nice. I did a dime cameo with the copper as a background, but this is soooo much better than that. You may shortly have others trying this technique. Great looking carving.
