Good start but needs some refinement! I will leave it to the masters on the forum to offer suggestions!

I would suggest mastering a very basic scroll before attempting something complicated.

Hello Pap. it's good that you are asking for help here
It looks to me that you used a template to draw the scroll backbones.
These are pretty fair with less shaky lines.
As Sam said, start with just one simple scroll and try to get the point of origin and the leaves right and properly spaced. Don't be afraid to copy someones simple scroll at first until your mind grasps the scale, placement and proportion of the leaves and the background space
Keep drawing and posting your results for critique and you will get there.

thanks Mr. John.....I don't know how I got to the point I'm at now. I've been monkeying with this since 2015 and I think now, that the styles of other engravers, pictures and the inability to keep on track had a considerable role in my artistic blitherings, will perserver. pap

Hay....I forgot John, I did use ngraver template for the backbones, it's the only way I can get a good one. I'll probably continue with that, if I don't it takes me about 40 minutes to do 1 backbone. pap

Hi Pap, I thought I recognized the Ngraver template use.
Using the Ngraver or GRS backbone templates for a while will help your mind and memory to recognize and draw a good, clean backbone yourself.
After a while it will come easier for you to just do by hand.
Please keep practicing and posting.

I will do that John, one must draw every day, if this is not done, how very little it might be, I loose some of it. Now that I am doing Sam's dvd's I only have to master about 4 elements, and I am on the way as we speak/write, will be posting soon, thanks for your reponse and thoughtful encouragement, it means a lot to me. pap
