Would you mind telling us more about this project, Damien? If I'm not mistaken, the "JF" is Jerry Fisher?

Yes Mitch, its a one off .22cal single shot made by Jerry a long time ago. Work time was divided maybe 60/40 engraving to wood carving. Thanks to all commenters for your kind words.

Damien, that must be dense wood to take such fine carving and even more so to take such fine checkering. I don't think I have seen 55 lpi elsewhere.
