I recently completed the engraving work on the 2014 Edition of the Colt Collectors Association Annual "Show Gun." Since 2014 is the 200th Anniversary of Sam Colt's birthday I dedicated the Theme of the project to that event. There are seven major gold inlays noting Colt's career as well as copius decorative gold and platinum border work.
This .45 Colt Single Action Army was sent to me directly from the Colt Custom Shop with a 10" barrel as well as a rare and distinctive extended grip frame. The one-piece grips, including the casted 14K gold Rampant Colt insert were made by Willy "B" Ellis and the final finish is Doug Turnbull's Charcoal Blue. The entire package includes a custom standing case by Les Yoder as well as a four-piece custom ivory accessory set made by Joe Lozito. The project is a Colt Custom Shop Exhibition Grade gun and it includes a "Factory Letter."
The composite poster shown in this Thread was designed by Paul Goodwin, photographer and Editor of the Rampant Colt Magazine and minor alterations it will also serve as the cover of the October, 2014 Edition. This Colt will be shown at the Colt Collectors Association Show in Concord, North Carolina during the weekend of October 3-5. It will auctioned on Saturday evening, October 4 at the Annual Auction.
