I want to play with the Big Boys :)

This Ring was made on a lathe, and engraved on a 4th axis CNC Mill :)

I did design the Scrolls and Hearts and drew them in "Auto Cad", This drawing was converted into G-Code and the machine did want I wanted :)

I hope nobody is offended, me posting this kind of work here, and Sam might Ban me from the forum :-(

There is a place for this kind of engraving in the market place. It is what it is . There a gun companies and others who cut this way then have production engravers enhance with hand cutting after the design has been cut by machine. Acids are also used for the same purpose. Little different from using a computer to generate the artwork then transfer and follow the lines. Just one persons opinion and you should take my comment as such. Fred

Looks well done - congrats!

Good picture too - really shows the difference between something that's actually engraved vs. the many, many other ways of decorating metal. Compare this picture to pretty much anything else on the forum and you'll see how the engraved cuts have 'life' to them.

Hi Charlie, I do lots one of a kind wedding band in Ti and sure yours can be a personalized one too.
I started making Ti wedding bands some 9 years ago, and by that time I was almost the only one showing them on the Internet.

Now a days a lot of jewelers and manufacturers are offering Ti wedding bands and mostly in my opinion the prices are too cheap. I can't imagine someone would wear his wedding band the rest of his : here life that only cost 5$.
However the one you show probably is a bit more expensive, but still looks cheap.

In my opinion the price for wedding bands is important as it needs to be precious.

In my opinion no one ever would eat Belgian Chocolates that costs 3$ a kilo

You said,
( but still looks cheap. )
Well thank You Arnaud.
I have no ambition to sell this ring or any other Ring, but if I did, me and my Machines would require $75.00 per hour, and This rings required more than 2 hours to build from a bar of Titanium. That is $150.00 worth of work !
Actually, I would not build this Ring for another person, I will send them to you :)

Thank You KCSteve,
That was a very respectful comment, and yes, you are right, there is a vast difference between what a "Good Engraver" can do against the machine.
I am a Mechanical Engineer and Machine designer by trade, but I do have an eye for art. However, I an a fanatic about symmetry and no man can mirror a design such as this, as good as the machine can.

Well Ed,
No reason for anyone here to get nervous about me :)
I am a Machine Designer.

I can, and do build Guns from Scratch, I even make the screws.
But, those who build Guns, don't need to be nervous either.

Don't feel offended by Arnaud Charley, altough he can speak for himself I know Arnaud good enough to know that he's only writing this as an eye opener.
When you follow en see Arnauds juwelry made out of "cheap" titanium he always upgrading the product by using real stones and by beautiful designs.
And I agree with him that when you put in zirconia or other poor stones you are down grading your product to the customer.
The average customer thinks titanium is a very special and mystic metal so when you keep it that way and upgrade it in words and advice you can make more money, and that's what it's all about.....though?

Nobody's offended by your post, Charlie. The ring looks like it was made on a machine and I have to agree with Arnaud that it looks cheap. That doesn't mean it looks bad.

Well Charlie I thought you were one of the big guys. You're the only guy I know who make his own volcanic rifle and have it engraved by the all time American Master Ron Smith.

There's a company in Ohio making Ti rings and selling them for over $100 bucks unengraved. If you can put a nice comfort fit on it instead of that right angle you're doin' fine. I might send you a chunk of round bar stock. Your price is reasonable for American made, owned and operated.

That's great Charlie! I'm in Tennessee now - truly a fantastic place full of history to learn and grow. One of the guys had visited him recently and posted some photos. I couldn't help but notice your beautiful rifle proudly displayed in the background. Much respect to both you!! I'll be touch. :)
