Hi MKaye,
Thank you for letting me know my info was of value to you! I apreceate it very much.
Things did change for me after the billit is formed though. After twisting I cut it in half to get a nice crisp design and one that mirrors the other side. But thats just one way to get a nice design.
Thanks again,
Very impressive. After a few decades I'm back at bracelets. They were fabricated silver inlayed with stone. This time I'm after engraved bracelets. I'm a rude beginner at engraving. Wonderful work like yours spurs me on. I certainly would like a copy of your "How you did it" if you do it. Your piece with the maple leaves is especially nice.
"I have seen some of the most beautiful acanthus leaf carving on the fences of Belgian made side by side shotguns. It must be a tradition with Belgian gun engravers. Perhaps one of our Belgian gun engravers here can comment on this or show an example."
Hay thanks Stewart. I have already learnt a few things off the new forum. Bad thing is now I can blow twice as much time on the internet. Already had to give up the TV. Heck, if I ever got a wife and a kid, I'd probably have to give up engraving. Thanks a bunch, it looks like a good site with some very good information, Seth
Hello Scratchy,
Thank you for posting your album. I enjoyed looking at your wide range of engraving. I like your work. Simple enough to be competative intricate enough to show your great skill. Your work is an insperation!

Hi Tom, still working on a design for my octagonal barrel. Is'nt getting anywhere soon Im afraid. Lots of other things to do, but I will get started on it one fine day! Doing a lot of other engravings right now to make sure I don't mess up the gun. Soon I hope to visit you friend from the gun forum in Holland. He invited me to see his collection.
Have fun in Rome!
Just viewed your tutorial on mokume gane. Am very much into this technique and liked your approach. I have made a large billet with much success. But, this technique is much easier to teach students for the first time. Thanks so much for posting this info.
Howdy Doug~ I do remember you. I am happy to hear that you are using those templates and are being productive with them! I have seen several of your posts and am glad you are doing well. I will definitely be in Reno (Lord willing and the creek don't).

Hey Greg, You remember me? You sent me some buckle outlines awhile back . I have had some cut from stainless. I have found some flux that works well for Silver soldering on the hardware. They are great practice for drawing. Maybe we will see you in reno next year. Just thought i would say hello. Doug Sutherland
