Just playing a little with some rough ideas.. possibly maybe, or maybe not.. Anyway, too much time away from the bench lately, so keeping the abstinences more or less levelled..
And I finally got some gold in the Black Lip Pearl.. that was pretty intense, but also super fun. It probably doesn't look like much, but the pearl is so fragile.
I can highly recommend the Affinity Suite.. but I do love Procreate too. But the last months I have been drawing more and more in Affinity Photo.. which is the same in a way. It´s pixel/raster based but has a little vector functions if needed. The few times I need Vector I use Affinity...
Thanks all! :-) @Dani Girl Thank you very much! Some are actual engravings and some not.. I prefer Procreate and the Affinity Suite on iPad.. I have not tried concepts, but whatever work, works :-)
Thank you very much @rweigel :-) Some are done with Affinity Designer, some in Affinity Photo on iPad and some with Procreate on iPad.
I mostly use AD for vector work, and hand drawing in AP and Procreate with the Apple Pencil on the iPad. I do have AD and AP on my Mac too.. with some big...
And some Mother of Pearl inlay in Stainless Steel..
I´ve had this knife laying around for a long time not knowing what to do with it because I really can´t stand all the holes in it.. but in the end I decided to get rid of them :-)
I haven't tried the Vevor but I have a Meiji EMZ that I was luck to get for $350 at ebay a few years ago. Sometime later I was going to have an inhouse class and I really needed a trinocular microscope with a camera so i could show what I was doing and inspect the student on a TV screen.. it was...
I´m trying.. trying and failing, and trying more and get first hand experience. :-) I have taken a good online class for castle setting, but I was probably challenging myself and the technique.. but the good ting I´m learning even more and having great fun! I will finish it somehow and know what...
Same with me :-) Now I dont engrave much or actually any firearms, but the 116 with either 45 or around 55 is what I use for mostly everything.. :-) Obviously flat and a few others, but for outline and shading, 116 it is :-)
I didn´t take the time but maybe 30 - 40 minutes.. at least less than an hour :-) But the program has the symmetric function so I only have to draw each element one time.. I have not been drawing all of them.. the more tricky part is to make it flow and fit nicely to each other. I have been...
It has most likely nothing to do with it being a collet nose. If I remember correctly it says somewhere in the manual that if you are going to use the most fine setting, turn half a turn back.. if not this might happen over time. I´m not sure exactly why but sounds like you maybe have overlooked...
I´m sure you have figured out by now? If not what I usually do.. (actually I have been using Affinity Photo more and more lately for my drawings, but anyway) In Procreate go to your layers and turn off the background layer at the bottom and you see the background turns gray. Then go to your...
Absolutely no idea.. I have never tried the PulseGraver :-) I was giving a class to someone that has one and using the Lindsay templates for sharpening.. I guess you didn't knew that answer ;-) I´m using Lindsay gravers and very happy with it and see no reason to chase anything else :-)
