A classic can do it all.. I have several classics, PalmControl, Chasing Air Graver, Classic with collet nose, a Nitro.. but a normal classic would be my first choice if I only had to choose one. They’re great and you only need a small compressor. They don’t use much air..
Anyway, a powerhone...
I have never really used the GRS sharpening system, so I cant say much, but I have more Lindsay templates that I´m ever going to need.. including several onglette, which I use.. and there is many more. :-)
I sharpen everything from square Lindsay blanks and some by hand.. I´m learning to high...
Did you mean M48? The M48’s is all I use these days.. not fully as hard as carbalt but way less brittle. They do get dull but I prefer a quick sharpening touch up rather than a lot of mess in case a carbalt tip breaks. :-)
Good point Allan! :-) It was more something I could fiddle with at evenings as I don't watch TV anyway and the laser can work and cut out parts for the stand while I draw or engrave.. but still not sure to bother as I would not expect big sales.. :-)
If someone really wants one and pay for the...
Hehe well, I’m quite happy with it so a little show of doesn’t hurt? :-)
The little room for the beads was the only space I didn’t have any plans for, but since I have some I unsharpened blanks it works..
Anyway I’ve been considering to make up a few but this one is made to fit my tools with...
Finally made myself a little organized tool holder in leather and hope i will be able to keep it like this.. it´s so nice to start working when it´s clean and organized.. at the same time, I know myself and an organized mess works too.. fingers crossed as this looks so much more clean :-)
Mine seems to be straight.. I know the feeling, but maybe you are a little picky (without being rude) as it does not affect it any way as I can see, does it? You choose the distance you want, tighten and scribe.. I love mine and use it a lot. :-)
If it bothers you, send Steve an email, but I...
When I got it anealed the best I could it was kind of workable.. without it was just like a super annoying spring.. rose gold is hard, no matter way, but a good annealing seems to help.. i got some tips to do it better but I would need a better torch and a stone to heat it up on. I´ll work on...
Thank you very much! :-) Yea I tried to anneal it but my torch is a little small so I was not able to heat up all the roll at the same time. After I quench it in alcohol, but I´m not sure I´m doing it 100% correct, but it defiantly got more soft.. but I guess like everyone say, rose gold is hard...
A little more tiny inlay exercise.. Finally knocked 18k rose gold in.. man it´s hard.. very hard. Not even sure I think it was fun, but I got it in and good for the experience account.. defiantly need some more experience with this, but a start. I have a shaky hand so got some funky shading...
Thank you very much! :-) It´s for sure an honor if I can inspire! If unique I believe it comes from drawing as much and as often as I can.. and trying to push my self to try new things and find what I like and don't like. :-)
I live in Spain, but I dont really speak well spanish.. anyway I guess you asked what graver I was using. Mostly for stainless I´m using M48. Not fully as hard a carbalt, but way less brittle. I refer to do a little touch up and almost never have any tip breaks :-) Theyre great!
Thanks! :-) For now I´m just using a Sharpie pen for the photos.. it´s just a practice plate for an upcoming project, just to make sure they are tight :-) Then I would use etching ink. The design is freehand drawin with a pencil.. just dab a little wax and draw carefully with a pencil and I...
And a little tiny inlay practice.. for a future project. Just want to make sure I get them right.. :)
The graver just for size reference.. and it covers the inlay.
Thanks all! :-) Jørn-Ove, I havent started with the 410 yet so not sure, but I´m very exited about it, but has some things to finish first.. but the 416 is lovely.. so I have to get back to the 410´s :-)
And another case back I´m at.. little by little :-) Next step is to add some text on the side.. got free hands, but I´m not so good with playing with words.. :-)
