from what i could see, your work is very nice for having been done with an nsk. i'm not an instagrammer so perhaps there is work i couldn't see. i feel your work is quite welcome here since you do it by hand. tyvm for showing.
sad, but the "march of time" leaves a lot of good people in the dust. sorta like the advent of the pantograph machine. a lot of great people were left with a bag of curious looking tools. makes me wonder where all the cnc people will be in 50 years.
not wanting to rain on your parade, but-- i've tried several different versions of this sort of gadjet. the optics are usually fair . the mounting fixture usually needs to be replaced with something better. something of your own manufacture.
if the vise is grs it is a bargain. if a foreign-made knockoff, no bargain there. try sending better fotos. esp if ther's logos or info stamped into the metal. for me, a wood workers vise would be useless. however, one goes to war with what one has, not what one wants. do a bit of search here...
you should first take a look at your posture when seated. you may be causing some back strain without even noticing how you position yourself. regardless of the chair, you must design your workstation to allow you to work as comfortably as possible.
the chosen magnification would depend on your eyesight as well as what it is you're working on. hobos require more (for me ) and maybe none for a guitar pickguard. micromark sells loupes that are adjustable from .5 to 4x. i don't know the working distances. they look like ordinary eyeglasses.
nothing major as this is your first. certainly not perfect. in time you will see improvement. practice makes it all come together. don't be afraid to practice drawing the scroll spine. all that follows will be a bit out of whack with less than a perfectly drawn spine.
that's one thing i learned on this forum. when a beginner, i gave little thought to heels. i did some really junky work as well. the last heel touchup i did-- don't really know. i found nearly invisible was the best for me.
