Hi, not 100% sure what John means , but look at an example in Sams video approx at 0:50 - 0:56 (beveled cuts).

If I remember correct from Meeks book. Put some drops of kerosene on a cotton ball. Put it in a small jar or simular, and just dip the graver point in to it.....

Long time ago with an onglette when practice hand push, I din`t put a short heel on the graver, but a long curved "belly" on it. That`s what I learned from old engravers back in Norway. Still use them :)

Have to ask. Is the atp 641 better than wrapping the blade in som stainless steel foile to prevent scaling when HT, and do you spray it, or brush it on the blade. Would really like to know how it`s done properly. I`m a hobby knifemaker myself and have problems with scaling on my engraved blades...
