Thanks for feedback mitch. Must admit that I don't have a clue how veins should look like or how they should be cut. Maybe you will tell ? I will appreciate it :graver::thumbsup::)

Hi friends. As allways it's been a while since I have engraved anything. This time I tried to practice more on gold inlay and also tried to do some bullino work. Here is a pendant in stainless steel. Simular designs have been engraved before, but it was really fun to cut. Body on the bee is 9mm...
Danae. Sounds like a fantastic idea if they where only used for practice. But I don`t know if anyone will be offended. Probably a lot of people in this forum to answer your question better than me :)

Never tried a flat. Think I have seen it used in western bright cut on youtube. Maybe I will try that method. Is there any special angles(face/heel) you prefere when cutting such work ?
Thank you Roger. It's an excellent tutorial. Remember that I had plans to ask you about it among other questions when I was at FEGA in 2020, but if remeber correct, you was sick and couldn’t be at the show ...Anyway I was Lucky to find a lot of nice people who answered all my silly questions...
I`m not an expert and I don`t feel for it either(rip it apart) :D . Really a nice pendant and nice cutting! Maybe some more shading where leaves goes behind, and maybe some more scrosshatching or "dots" some places(e.g. lower right corner)? And again, I`m no expert

Hi friends. Bought Mr Sams video on flare/transition cutting some time ago. I have tried the method, it`s fun and it`s fast, and even looks okey, but I think I have still a lack of deacent graver controll. I have used a Lindsay universal point graver.
I wonder if you can tell me cons and pros...
I have also seen the video from Thierry Duguet where he just stipples the background. Wonder if it`s strong enough for holding the gold in place? Maybe he use different angles when he make such undercuts. Can anyone tell?

Many years since I read James B Meeks book, but if I remember correct, he wrote that you can use cotton in a bowl/can, soake with a few drops of kerosene/lamp oil as cutting fluid. Just dip the graver prior for each cut......BUT I don`t know if it`s actually working on aluminium. Maybe worth a...
I must admit that I never have tried it before. Have only the foil option in my garage, so I cross my fingers here. Did ask Ray Cover, and he told me to do all engraving before HT. If everything goes to h...so be it ...
