Never had an oil smell with my Gravermiester because it did not burn much oil/trans fluid.
I replaced the carbon vanes in a regular basis over the 20 odd years I used it.
Cuts down on oil use and burning/smell.
Also never had an overheating problem with the enclosure and muffin fan air flow...
Imageraj.
PS to the Gravemiester enclosure. Heavy extension cord with a lighted switch.
I used a multi-outlet extension cord with a switch outside of the enclosure.
Both the Gravermiester and the muffin fan were plugged into this extension.
Drilled the strokes lever, brass rod through the top...
A plastic milk crate, lined with convoluted foam and turned upside down over the machine.
Add corner posts to the crate so that it stands about an inch from the ground when it is upside down over the machine.
Muffin fan that extract the heat will also draw in fresh air from below the enclosure...
If I had my choice I would shape the blade and bring it close but not to finish polish.
Then with the blade still in the soft state, create the cavities and bur field.
Inlay the precious metal, sand or stone it to just short of finish level.
Then clay coat the blade Japanese style and heat...
If inlays are to be flush and require sanding or stoning it is usually best to do that part of the inlay process before any close by engraving is done.
Detailing of the inlay can follow after the surrounding engraving is completed, and sometimes after a finish such as bluing on steel is applied.
First thing to do is check with GRS customer service when you can give them some input.
To give them some help with their diagnosis you might do the following checks.

Thanks for the update of the Engrave In, Dean.
Scott and family do a wonderful job and make everyone so welcome.
Real Southern hospitality, great food and friendships.
And you did a great job on getting your wife's cake there in one piece.
Thank you T. G. You are well on your way.
In your original the backbone was too thin as it emerged from the first leaf. Change it
The backbone at the top of the scroll ran beyond the border. Change it.
Reduce the size of your design to fit within the area of the bolster.
All the backbones...
Thank you T. G.
Another option for that final leaf area would be some outside leaves off of the originating loop and maybe a smaller scroll from the outside of the large scroll backbone.
We have all looked back with regrets at some of our cutting, and that situation never ends.
Good plan to draw...
Some nice cutting, TG.
Couple of things you might consider.
The scroll backbone gets very thin where it emerges from the originating loop.
Hard to visualize it supporting the large. following leaves.
And the big final leaf coming off the center bud defies nature.
Several smaller leaves would be...
Nice, rich scrolls.
You might consider texturing or relief cutting the two or three included small background areas.
And perhaps some outside work on the righthand side.
