I work in my garage, so preheat is a must during the cold season.
For me the best tip is the tape under the jaws to catch the chips, instead of letting them fall on the threads (greased) below.
Lots of "how to" tidbits can be learned from careful observation.
Thanks David,

I know this is way off topic, but this is where I get my inspiration. I have been scuba diving for over 40 years now, and every time I go it is still thrilling, always something new to see.
I thought some of you might enjoy some of my pictures from my most recent trip to Grand Cayman.
Use...
Try using a slower speed (lower RPM) or increase the feed (amount of pressure on burr).
It's the same principle as is used in a machine shop setting, just a different set of tools.

Do a search for "Practice Plates"
I posted a ton of what you are looking for.
If that doesn't give you what you need, post a specific font need. I have lots of that stuff ready for practice plates ( 2" X 2")
I just got back home from a 3 day Bulino Class with Ray Cover at his school in Potosi, MO.
My head is just about to explode, lots covered and I really learned a TON!!!
Of course Ray is a great teacher, and spent lots of time with each student explaining how to change our attempts to develop...
Sam, Thanks for the diffuser pic.

As always it is a pleasure to see your work. Clean, uncluttered, and crisp. You seem to have an unending supply of A-5's.
I had a FN Sweet Sixteen given to me by my eldest brother as my first ( not borrowed) shotgun, and I regret that I had to sell it during lean times in my early...
Nicely done JJ.
I spend many hours on my back deck watching the Hummers come and go. They never fail to put a smile on my face, truly one of nature's best gifts.
David,
Absolutely beautiful work from 2 great artists.
I am truly envious that you could work along side your son and contribute to a beautiful project that will be remembered by both artists forever.
