i have always found it easier and closer to tollerance by enlarging a hole. much trickier to make a small bushing that's going to work.
you may need a number drill or letter drill to enlarge the hole to where you want it to be. the disk is likely just mild steel, so drilling would be easy.
i no longer am able to do guns. when i was doing them, i used only contraptions i cobbled together. my fave was a 45 slide holder i made.out of a very hard wood. it allowed complete rotation of the slide. by now, the termites may have eaten it.

nice. i have quite a few of the efb style. i seldom use them. i mostly use the handles i made for myself. maybe one day my widow will put them on buy and sell.
is the grinder variable speed ? if not, you may be able to install a controller if the motor is of the right type. i had a grs powerhone. i also made 2 different ones using dc motors. one from an old tape transport. the other from a treadmill motor.

is this yer first cylinder? if so, i'd advise getting a 2" or so dia pipe coupler to give it a whack. cylinders are sort of odd to work at first. at times you have to continually adjust your wrist, and then fade into flat mode, then back again when cutting scrolls. if you try using a coupler...

i never saw one with that particular construction. that certainly is a keeper. i'm no expert, but perhaps it was modified by the original owner.
