I like all the different scroll designs very much. I would prefer to purchase the file, as it avoids all the hassle with shipping to Europe, customs and delivery time.

For phone calls to other continents, I use Skype. I feed it about 5€ per year, that suffices for all my far far away calls. That would enable you to call GRS without making BT rich.

When you use the handpiece with throttle closed and lower pressure than required, it will knock and rattle like hell. If you‘d like to avoid that range, turn the pressure up to 2 bar or so while the motor is still off, than start the motor and turn the pressure down until the handpiece starts...
Hi,
your air pressure setting at the gravermax is far too low. It needs turning up to stop the handpiece vibrating.
You need a certain air pressure to get the handpiece quiet, at lower pressure it will still knock, as the air pressure does not push the piston far enough to the front to stop...
Beautiful work! The girl‘s pendant reminds of a classic Journeys record cover… Did you use ink to blacken the background?
I live in France. Would you teach me some basics, if I‘d come to the Netherlands?

out of curiosity: did You leave the flask empty for engraving? Or did you fill it with something (water, sand, low melting stuff…) to dampen noise and get more impact from your graver handpiece?
Cheers

I used Bose QC noise cancelling headphones at work (not for engraving) for some years, and at the highest setting the acoustic isolation is so strong that it feels strange. They do work for your purpose, but you have to get used to this feeling. You‘ll also loose some acoustic feedback from your...
Hello, I do not use a diamond cone, but a real brilliant-cut 2 mm diamond which I set upside down in a tool for my stone setting flexible shaft hammer handpiece. That leaves in Gold and Silver a set of sparkling impressions.
For the engraving handpiece, I made to stippling points out of worn...
Maybe the tiny buffer tank of the bambi does not allow for the oil vapor to settle down? I use a very old JunAir with two compressor heads and a 25l buffer tank, no oil visibly leaves the tank.
Maybe the compressor is overfilled with oil?
Good luck

To solve the broke/no budget problem, you could start out with a template system. Do you have acces to some basic machining? A saw, a file, a lathe and a drilling machine suffice to built working templates. I did so in the start, before I found a second hand Dual Angle support. If interested in...
I would put it down as a fractal (image produced by a software using some formula whose iteration converges or not depending on the (X.Y) coordinates of the point in the plane) combined with some pattern generating algorithm. The line structures between two fan- or leaf-like structures remind me...
I learned engraving without a direct teacher, only with help from the engravers cafe. It would have been impossible / quite a lot harder and slower without air assist. Those systems, properly set up, make the start a lot easier. The same goes for a precise sharpening system. As a beginner, you...
In engraving videos the wax transfer is often scribed directly afterwards, marking the lines permanently on the metal’s surface. I imagine that would work for bike parts.
