I was just thinking back through the years of the Engravers Cafe and I got to wondering whatever happened with that guy who set out to learn hand engraving from start to being a Master Engraver in one year? He just seemed to disappear. Hopefully, he kept engraving beyond that one year.
Originally designed by Sam Alfano, I decided to make a run of 144 of these heavy brass graver lube cups. A tool you will use every day and it will last just about forever. Sam uses one for lube and one for Transfer Wax.

The subject of whether you can use the Lindsay Engraving long collets in the GRS hand pieces and whether you can use the GRS QC collets in the Lindsay collet nose hand pieces has come up from time to time. I did a side by side comparison and, they are fully interchangeable. The Lindsay collet...
I must have forgotten to chip in when my last year ran out. I know I've gotten WAY more benefit than the paltry amount requested each year. I just chipped in again. It's the LEAST we can do. Most of you can afford at least a small donation to help Sam pay the expenses so... I suggest you do...

I was flying my camera drone taking some photos of our local Masonic Temple here in Grand Forks, North Dakota recently. There are some things that a person can't see very readily from the street level.
I like the acanthus leaf scrolls on either side of the Scottish Rite eagle. The...
