If a cad program would work for designing scroll and other patterns. to be transferred to a printer. It would be used for hand engraving. looking for input from the pros. knowledge is power. I know there is a great deal of it. From people in the know. thankyou
For a Mac, Adobe Illustrator is the best vector based application. Inkscape is free so you might consider that. Each program has a scroll tool which will draw a proper scroll backbone. After that you're on your own. If you can design on paper then you can design with the computer.
Unless you are planning on machine cutting then you don't need CAD. Unless of course you are familiar with it. Photoshop, CorelDraw, Illustrator or any of the other "drawing software would do the job probabley better.
However, pencil and paper........with the accessories of sharpener and rubber, Ok, Ok, eraser for all you Americans, will do the job a lot better than all of the above..................... and it's quicker
