Shawn it looks like you are beginning to wind down on engraving this Vaquero, I would be of interest to show some pictures of your break down and prep work you have done to accomplish the beautiful engraving you have done . Maybe even some pictures of your annealing the Gate.
I love watching your work.
I use the cmax gravers dave
bill I took the gun to a gunsmith and had him take it apart.
as far as layout I just drew everything on the gun by hand.
the annealing of the gate was done by building a small fire in our fire pit.
I wrapped the gate and a small piece of wood in some foil and placed it in the pit.
when the coals had burnt down and cooled off I removed the gate buffed it off and engraved it.
I will engrave the frame and the ejector rod housing....got to put on my thinking cap to figure out a design and then how to get it on there.
plus some initials....somewhere:thinking:
Hi there Shawn,
The end is near............. must .....keep......cutting.......!!
Your almost there, dig deep !! And I must admit, it's going to be a nice looking revolver when it's completed
jj this is a customers gun...not sure if he is going to change the grips.
