And…….what do you intend to engrave? I started cuz I wanted to embellish flintlock rifles I built ( another highly skilled craft in itself). A lot of borders and lines etc.
or……guns/ knives? It takes Years of practice to be able/ skilled to set a chisel to a gun or knife let alone the customer...

Thanks JJ.shes passed on now, one heck of a hunter. Had her 13 yrs. Like most GWP’s. she hunted fur or feather, blood tracked, water retrieved with equal enthusiasm.
First off, get a real sketch pad, leave the ones with lines to a secretary. Get a good eraser, Pink Pearl or gum. And decent pencils ,Not a 10 pack at Dollar store.

Pretty fine craftmenship from what I see fine grade of wood and fit to metal excellent, tang engraving fine detail. I would guess this wasn’t made for a common man.
