i have an ata sp60r pneumatic pencil type mini grinder. it is a very powerful little tool. i've not been able to find out if this little beastie uses oil, or is oil free. anybody know ? would oil harm the turbine if it was an oil free model. i've

for me, the diamond burs give better control. i use carbide first, then finish off with diamond. the diamonds i use are imports (drat), but hold up reasonably well even in ss & mild steel.
welcome. you need to check the page for beginners. check tool tips for beginners. educate yourself a bit before you start spending money on tools you may find that are of little use for yer purpose.

about 3 weeks ago i bought an "ata"brand air turbine for working on metal sculpture. it's 70k rpm. out performs any other rotary i have. no foot pedal, it's pneumatic, with the control on the rear of the "pencil". rather pricey, but it worx !
