    i think the inner elements are too large which leaves for lack of concistency in the background. scan the bolster, resize it and do larger drawings. reduce the size when everything comes together. then either make a transfer, or give a try at direct drawing. personally, i would draw up the spine...

    the people i worked for had the paducah facility deplate/replate. the engraving was deep enough to start with. the people were all from the south dakota area, and were totally satisfied with the engraving after having been replated. sorry i have no fotos of that work to show.
