    Graver drift problems

this might sound stupid but... check to make sue your graver is properly set into the holder. If it's not centered and that could also be the cause of your drifting. Make sure it is going straight out

    Critique Request Bulino work

very nicely done. Perhaps a few more darker lines on the left side of the jaw in the hair to brink it out the jaw a bit more like you have on the right side. Do as you feel it and not try to make a photo.

Motifs & animals- shouldn’t they face forward?

    Critique Request Recent “realistic” work

Dani. You are looking at these photos in an extreme large state. As such you csn see how the detail is done. I would assume at it’s full small size these all blend together in a very subtle way to create the shading and form. Engraving is meant to be looked with the naked eye. You look at it...

    Printable drawings for practice plates

Copywrite or not, we all copy to some extent. However, when you make a direct copy on a piece and then sell it as your original work, it crosses the line. I have seen this done on a few of my engravings and I called out the engraver to remove the listing that was for sale stating it was a...

    Las Vegas…let the countdown begin

It’s been a few years since I have had the pleasure of seeing everyone at our annual FEGA show. This time I will be flying from the east coast rather than driving from Colorado. Lee and myself will finally be presenting our joint seminar that has been postponed for 3 years. I know there will be...
