cant speak to the shotgun in question. the depth of the guns i did was may be a thousandth of an inch or so. my laser tube is co2. the yag tubes would probably go maybe.005". the yag will actually "dig" into the metal due to the wavelength of the laser output.. my co2, at 30 watts would just...
they are usually called that. they can enlarge and project images of sheets of paper, mineral samples, most anything that will fit on the sample platform. the ones in toy stores have cast plastic lenses., but are good enough for enlarging your drawings. you may get them on the bay as well.
something that seemed to help me-- a small opaque projector. blow the drawing up to giant size on a wall. that can change yer entire perception of the work you're drawing. at least around here, they're available in toy stores for just a few bucks.
i agree with crazy horse-- just way too flat in appearance. i did a couple guns with my laser a few years ago. i scanned my drawings, and sized them in corel. easy as pie to do, and the results were rather drab to look at. never again did i try to combine art and commerciality. it just fizzles !
certainly allright ! i hope you can find someone nearby to give you a bit of a jump start. if not, there's literally scads of videos for free on the tube. also excellent professional video instruction available. a video, say by sam, may run a few bucks, but think of the cost of doing things...
i agree. i used to buy old graver lots on the bay. many were just barely usable, but of the good ones, it allowed me to have many different geometries/shapes/sizes that i otherwise may never have acquired. except for n-graver liners, all mine came from the lots on the bay.
i never fiddled with sams' formula. i always used it as-is. my very fave is directly applied hp inkjet #92. it can go direct onto most surfaces. i found this cant be used for at least 20 minutes after printing. the prints can last a couple days before drying out.
sadly, my cat licked the can whilst open. 2 days later the cat lost all the hair on its tail ! the wax, all kidding aside, is one way to do a transfer. only practice and determination will make one more accurate and better. there's a dozen ways (at least) to do transfers. the wax way is just a...
flint doubles & sam--tyvm. i forgot about the paint store stuff. i used it a few years ago to concoct a white trans liquid.
i added 2volumes of sirchie to 5 volumes of chap stick as per mike dubbers potion. it works, magic tape would do 3 transfers, but was no better than mikes' graphite. it...
i've used mr dubbers blackend wax. it works, but like anything, a bit of practice is needed. i never tried, but i wonder if sirchie fingerprint ink might be a better pigment for this ? if the wax were melted, it would be easy to see if the sirchie pigments would spread evenly thruout the wax...
