Looks great!
I would advise to make something to stop the Hone from spraying your walls :)
Maybe a small bucket. And cut a hole in the bottom for the arbor/spindle. And remove 1/4 or 1/3 of the front so you can have access to the sharpening discs with your Apex angle thingy.
If you want to...
There exist special acid which can be brought. Bergeon makes it.
There is ALUM which might work on some occasions.
Or you can use a carbide bur to burr the steel. Or us a diamond coated burr to remove the material.
If your graver is sharp after 1200. But after using the wheels it is dull. Then you are using the wheels wrong. I got the same problem when I started using the diamond polishing wheels from GRS. You need to adjust the way you hold the graver on the wheels. Try to lean a little bit away from the...
You cant solder Titanium. Need to weld/laser it under Argon gas. Or else you will have an oxidised weld which is very weak.
You can rivet it or maybe fold some parts over to clamp.
Titanium grades, I think I have used grade 2 in the past. Grade 1 is the most ductile. But maybe not so nice to...
Online you can find inexpensive diamond wheels/laps. If you measure the lap/wheel that is on there now. Inner hole and outer diameter. Then you can buy those. I have a homemade powerhone. And have brought a set of diamond laps 240,600,1200 and 3000 Grit. For less than $40 total for 4 laps. If...
I like your video's Jan Hendrik! keep em coming. Always interesting to see how other people go about doing this work. Everybody has their own way of doing things. So we can all learn from each other.
If you round the point a bit, just like a round graver. It should still cut and not plow, wouldn't it?
So only remove some metal from the bottom facets. Not the front.
For drilling or burring/grinding in steel or other hardened metals. You need to use carbide burs. And always a slow speed. around 3000RPM is good. A lubricant will help to increase the life of your burs. If they get hot they get dull faster.
2.35mm burs is probably what will fit in your...
Thank you Jan Hendrik for making the video's I watched most of them. I liked the one in Afrikaans as well. I could understand most of it.
Groeten uit Nederland!
Yes I have laser welded some different metals together.
Silver and Titanium is very difficult. Silver requires high energy and the Ti oxidizes easily.
I could not get a strong bond.
Steel and Gold is doable. If you use argon to shield then an even better weld can be made.
Steel reacts very...
The Jura artgraver is a copy of the idea from Sergey Waltman:
If you search on Youtube for Homemade graver machine. You will find loads of videos about how to make your own. Jura has combined it with a Saeyang micromotor inside.
Personally I find that the flex-shaft gets heavy after using for sometime. Because you have to push and pull the whole flex-shaft .
With the micromotor all the weight is in your hand. I have an NSK and it is really nice to work with when I practice my stone-setting.
Csontmetzo, look in other...
