Andrew I noted that one of your interest is fly fishing. The San Juan river (NM)not too far north is reputed to be a good place for fly fishing. Can't speak from personal experience.

I couldn't resist posting this picture of Carl and I from about 1950. Carl is the cute one. I will probably catch heck from Carl but what can he do. You can't divorce your brother!
What a great lot we were................and still are!!
So much hair, so much fun, so many memories, so many dreams and so much water under the bridge.
Just wonderful!!!!...........keep 'em coming!!
Cheers
Andrew
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
Strange how much all of us engravers have in common, not only the hear and music and other interests....
It is of course my point of view, but we are not boring
Looks like your mom has you pretty well strapped down. You must have been an adventursome lad. That look on your face reveals that you must have seen someone with a beautifully engraved blunderbus just going by. Had they invented those yet??
I think my transportation back then was a little red wagon.
many will remember the date. this pic taken the night jfk was killed. we were sequestered in the barracks, "bags packed", trucks & a few choppers out front- in case the call came. me & a few of my buddies chose to play pool that night. nobody felt like sleepin. i think i was 18.
Monk,
Cool photo......I was in Jr. High...I must of been 13. We were all ushered in to a auditorium and watched the events unfold on one TV that was set up on stage.
roger: i'm sorry i didn't have you for a sarge ! they never called me nice things like that. for quite a time i thought my last name was maggot. i believe that to be french for, "baby fly".
I dug up this old thread (last post 3/09) and copied it to the Tips Archive for future reference. It's just too good to disappear into the forum abyss! Free free to add more photos
