Repeating myself. I have said this before, but that's what happens when old age creeps in :)
Some electric switches and breakers have hard bronze flat springs.
They make great gold trimming flats.
The way the bud is shaded puts a "full stop" to the upper line of the undelaying scroll backbone and breaks the continuity.
Only you know what you were trying to depict and maybe that's what you wanted.
Pretty nice.
The shading and the overlapping curl/bud at the point of origin for the lower right scroll
need a little sorting out. The unshaded drawing shows it well.
Sorry to you old timers...... you all have your own way. But this just might help a newbie to inlay a line.
My MO is to have about 10-20% of the volume of the wire above the surface when I have seated it into the undercut line by hammer and brass punch. So cut your line to suit your desired...
To be sure, request a sample sheet printed on this machine before you spend money.
I have an older version of Canon laser, Image Class MF227dw and it works like a charm using acetone.

That way, you have a record of your improvements.
Mathew, please rethink this design before cutting.
You have some interesting elements but two bud leaf elements in the first and last scroll that do not originate from the backbone and are just floating in space.
That is unless I'm misreading your design.
Byrn.
Sound like you are setting a good high bar for yourself and have the idea of producing fine quality work.
Keep that thought and you will get there with practice. Lets see more of your work.
And enjoy your new machine.
Well done Byrn.
Don't be afraid to do the project over from scratch, for more practice.
When you get one that you think is better see if you can swap it out with the guy.
Then keep the original as a treasure and your first commission.
I haven't seen the original artwork but it seems like there...
Well said and well done Dustin. Your posted engravings may not be perfect at this time, but they show
a lot of promise.
Remember, you have some great engravers in TN and reach out to them when possible..
