    You're the second person who told me they used a glass light globe for photography. Sounds like a really good idea to me. I saw one in a junk store in Kansas but it would have been impractical to try to schlep the thing home on airlines. The plastic ones in your link look really good.

    It's the simplest device in the world. As SamW said, remove the set screw and lift off the top of the vise and give it a good cleaning and you'll be back running in no time.

    AMT Backup .380 auto -- first post as well

    I saw an AMT 380 Backup engraved by Lynton McKenzie for the president of Paraguay around 1980 or so. Magnificent job that I doubt has ever been photographed, and the prep work on the gun turned it into a thing of beauty even without engraving.
