Carbide Grinding Dust Collector for Power Hone

I know this is an old post. But good Lord! No need for elaborate hoods that still have to be cleaned by hand or vacuum. And vacuum noise, whoa! All you need is one of those advertising magnetic calendars taped to the case side of the power hone with some shipping tape. They come free in the...

    Grs complicated

Yes, unfortunately it has been hard to get a response from Ngraver recently. Ray Phillips is 95 years old and not in good health. His son Brian is now running the show but does not always respond, sad to say.

Ray invented his tool, on his own time, while he was also employed as an inventor for the U. S. Navy. Because of Navy regulations he...

If you want a darker background you must keep the stipple point sharp. You will get a finer texture to hold the ink. I find cobalt M-42 best for this. Carbide chips too easily. Just my thoughts. But I like it like it is.

    Show and tell

You have some used some very advanced techniques and artistry in the presentation of this scroll. Congratulations on it and your shading. You might consider using a needle point stipple and ink on the background if you want to darken it for higher contrast.

Getting hand control on power graver

707chrisa, I believe you will find that the Lindsay $1150 graver sale was also a foot control unit. He want's a palm control engraver. The Lindsay foot control graver can be changed to palm control, but at the cost of many $$$. Another solution. When I was teaching engraving, mostly H&C, one...
